Diversity-audit „Vielfalt gestalten“

The Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany) initiated the diversity audit that is funded by the JP Morgan Chase Foundation and the Mercator Foundation. It is designed to establish a diversity-oriented university culture that perceives diversity as opportunity and enrichment while at the same time rises to the challenge of dealing with heterogeneity. In the course of the diversity audit, JGU has decided to focus first on the situation of its students.

The diversity audit “Vielfalt gestalten” assists universities with developing and implementing diversity strategies. Over the course of two years, participating universities develop structures, programs, tools and measures for different groups of students. These measures are designed to support these students in achieving academic success. The Stifterverband’s aim is to increase equal opportunities in university education. University access and academic success should not depend on students’ cultural or social background, their educational background or living conditions but on their individual commitment (cf. website of the Stifterverband).
